Transfers!

Image
Sorry for no email last week there wasn't a whole lot to talk about. This week was great though. We managed to do some service, lessons, and meetings. We also received transfers so that's exciting.  I loved our Prophet's broadcast to the world. Showing gratitude is just what we need in a time of confusion, hardship, and sorrow. One miracle I've seen from taking on his invitations is an opportunity to give a book of Mormon to one of the ladies we are doing service for. She commented on my post about being grateful for the scriptures and asked for a Book of Mormon! We've been doing service for her for about 4 months and haven't really tried to preach to her (she would ask questions and we would answer but never tried to bring up teaching her). I have felt so much Joy seeing all of the wonderful things people are grateful for it's amazing.  No huge update with our friends. Slowly getting there with them so please pray for Tanya, Mary, John, and Amanda. We did a...

Productive Week

What's going on everyone hope its been a good week! This week has been pretty generic. We have had lesson with members and our friends. Elder Menzel and I created a Ward Mission plan and we've been working to get that out to the members.  The 4 man flat has been fun and I think it has helped the other Elders out a lot. Weve been working on a facebook video so hopefully we can get that done this week.  We had 2 lessons with Tanya this week and we've seen some progress. The first lesson she was expressing her concerns about Joseph Smith and we were kind of discouraged about it. We thought she was making good progress and then she hit this roadblock again. The second lesson we had went really well. We read parts of "Saints" with her and helped her with different points about polygamy. During the lesson we could tell the spirit working with her. She is slowly softening her heart and I can tell she knows the Book of Mormon is true she just cant admit that Joseph was a ...

Moved Out And Locked Down

Image
What's going on everyone? Hope you're all staying safe and doing well. This week has been quite eventful. We've moved in with some Elders in Meltham which is my first area! We have gone into a national lockdown which is fun too.  So we packed all of our stuff Wednesday night and moved to Meltham before lockdown on Thursday. It was so weird to see all the old places I've been. It's been almost a year so it was bit nostalgic. The flat is big enough for the 4 of us. We have 2 showers and enough room for our stuff. It's not the most spacious but we aren't crammed which is nice.  We had a really good lesson this week with our friend Tanya. We talked about seeking Christ in every thought and how we can overcome stumbling blocks in our lives. This is especially important for her thoughts and concerns. We have seen a huge change in her and she has said she is starting to feel less and less concerned or worried so prayers would be much appreciated. I gave a talk duri...

England Leeds Mission Update

To Family Members and Leaders,   You have probably read that England has started a new four-week lockdown. Covid-19 rates have escalated, and the government response is to limit exposure by reducing personal contact.    Fortunately, most of our missionaries are well versed in the requirements to protect themselves and others. We clearly do not want to become ill or make others sick.  Most of us are guests in this country and we are committed to being good citizens. So, we are adhering to the new rules.  You can read about the policies  here .   The new rules are, in some ways, better than the first restrictions introduced in March. For example, missionaries can spend more time to exercise outdoors.  Missionaries are encouraged to not leave home, but the government does provide some exceptions for certain work, volunteer and charitable services.  We will be very cautious about using these exceptions. We have used great care and caution sinc...

Spiritual Preparation For Lockdown

Image
Hey everyone hope you're all doing well and staying safe. These past 2 weeks have been pretty good for the most part. We have been trying to to service and teach our friends but with weather, this whack virus, and them being busy we haven't had a whole lot of lessons but it's ok that's how it goes sometimes.  Sorry for sending the last email a week late and this email will be mainly this past week. I wish I could tell you a bunch of cool stories but the weeks haven't been too thrilling haha. We did however have Zone conference this week. It was a really good conference and very eye opening.  The theme of the conference was focused on diligence and using our time wisely. As a mission we have done fairly well at doing the work but there are still some things that we could be doing better to help fulfill our purpose. It was a wake up call for us all. President green isn't a numbers guy but he doesnt ignore them. He showed us the baptisms and effort percentage(compa...
