Chapter 3: Halifax

Image
Heyo hope you're all doing good. This week has been quite eventful and busy. Liking the new area and it's a great change of pace I'm liking it. Being in Halifax has been great. I'm liking the flat and its quite nice to have my own personal space instead of living out of a suitcase and a mattress on the floor in the four man flat last area. A 4 man flat is nice if there's room for everyone's stuff. So the first day we unpacked and cleaned out the flat because it was left a bit messy when quarantine happened and was uninhabited ever since. The downside to no public transportation is that we have to walk 30 min to get groceries unfortunately.  As for the rest of the week we made a lot of phone calls and asked other missionaries about the area to get up to date with things. We have a super solid friend named Alana who loves the Book of Mormon. She seems super genuine and a little crazy haha. We got to see her in person as well. We trekked 40 min to her house to drop...

Wow wow wow what a week it has been. Big news with transfers and a decent week with lessons and walks. Hope you've all had a great week! Let's jump right into the week. Alright so to start off the week right we Tacos. That's right TACO TUESDAY!!!! We had some bomb tacos with chips and guacamole. Oh how I miss Mexican food. We had some great member lessons and got to chat with Julian over messenger. He is struggling with not having any work at the moment and not being able to leave his flat. Prayers for him would be much appreciated. Later in the week I got a random message from a guy named Raven from the Philippines. I don't even know the person and he just messaged saying he were interested in learning more but didn't believe we needed religion. He also only wanted to be taught by me and no one else which was a bit creepy. He calls me Brother Jackson and wants to be my friend. I've been able to teach over messages, but I don't see much coming from it at the...

Walk, Weather, Fireside

Salutations friends and family! Hope you're week was grand. This week has been alright. The weather has been the opposite of grand. This whole week it dropped about 20 degrees and it rained a lot. Walks this week were seemingly nonexistent. We did manage to get through and have some great studies. Transfers are in 1 week and its possible that I could be leaving Elder Pombo and head somewhere else. One fun thing we did this week was walk to a park called Bradgate Park. It is about a 1 1/2 hour walk there so that was awesome. My legs wanted to fall off after the walk. We met up with the other sisters in our district and trekked it.  12.87  miles of walking in the heat with little to no breeze. It took about 5 hours in total that day. We got to see deer and walk up onto a hill and see the city. Elder Harmon wants to do the trip at least 2 more times before transfers but I don't know if my feet can handle it haha. The zone leaders came down and played some spikeball with us so tha...

Run-Of-The-Mill

Hey everyone! Hope you're week was good. This week was alright we had interviews with President and Sister Green which were great as always and went for a 12 mile walk one day. One thing that quarantine has to offer is that we have time to make more complex meals which has been great because we are branching out from the usual chicken and rice or pasta.  Alright so this week consisted of some member lessons and going to the park. Getting to know the members more is always great and we have great discussions using come follow me. We met a member we haven't before and it was such a good call we could've talked for hours.  On Wednesday we had our interviews and they were awesome I talked to Sister Green and she told me a lot of uplifting and motivation things. When I talked to President he was telling me that I am high up on the list of people to transfer to a new area. When I heard that I was mixed emotions. I loved getting to know the members and also being able to find Juli...
