RIP KOBE

Hello family and friends! Hope you've had a wonderful week! This week was a generic one we did a bunch of finding and missionary work as usual haha.  One person we are working with at the moment is on a baptismal date and her name is Grace. She has been in n out of the hospital with health issues so getting to church was an issue and we keep having to push her date back. She needs to attend church 2 times in a row to be baptized. So this past week we hadn't seen her in a while cause she was in the hospital, but we stopped by her house and she's doing better. She finally got her licence and a car so getting to church is no problem now. We set up this weeks lessons with her so it should be good. She told us that while she was reading the Word of Wisdom pamphlet we assigned her to read she started to cry and feel the spirit. We were so chuffed (happy) when she told us this. Unfortunately this past Sunday she didn't make it to church because something came up but we are wor...

Spiritual Recharge

Hello everyone, hope your week was good! My week was pretty alright. I was sick earlier in the week but we had Zone conference which was amazing. We made some new friends and got to teach some people. Leicester is a great area and a breath of fresh air.  Tuesday and Wednesday we were in the flat most of the day because I was a bit sick and my companion said we are not going out when you sound like that so we thought we should clean up the flat a bit and study. During that time inside we got a call from someone we texted from the old paper area book and he said he wanted to learn more. We ended up making 3 friends and 1 potential this week even though we were in two of the days and Zone Confrence the other day. Zone Conference was soo good this week. We focused on a BYU devotional by Elder Bednar titled "In the Strength of the Lord". Elder Bednar discusses the redeeming power of the Atonement and the enabling power of the Atonement. He quotes “The purpose of the gospel is . . ...

Into The Big City

Hiya everyone hope you've all had a past week! My first week here in Leicester (Lester) has been so good. Getting to work and having a great time doing it.  So Elder Kidd's last companion was headed home and had no desire to work so Elder Kidd was so glad I was coming so we could actually work in the area. They had 1 person on a date for baptism, but no other real solid friends so we were pretty much starting from scratch. So our area is mainly street contacting so it is new to both of us. Some of the sisters in our district gave us tips on how to do it and they told us one thing which was to stop literally everyone we see. So we tried that out on this long walk way. Lemme tell ya it's so weird just non stop going person to person. Elder Kidd jokingly one time told me to stop a big crowd of people walking our way and I was like alright bet and attempted it, but they weren't bothered about it haha.  One funny thing this week is that the first day we went street contactin...

Transfers

Hello Everyone!! Hope you are all doing well. This email will be a bit shorter today transfers are tomorrow so we are busy today.  So we recieved transfer calls yesterday and I'm leaving Meltham and headed down south to a place called Evington. My new comp is Elder Kidd!!! He was my first district leader and I loved him. He's from Seattle Washington and has been out about 10 months now. I'm so stoked it will be such a good time. I will miss the meltham ward I loved the people so much. I'll definitely be visiting after the mission. I'm glad I get a new area though. I should be doing some street contacting in this new area so I'll learn how to do that better. I'll keep you updated what happens this week should be a good one. Spiritual thought:  I want to share a simple but true scripture that I have a strong testimony in. It's in Proverbs 3:5-6 and it says: " 5 ¶ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In a...

Christmas In England And The New Year!

Image
Hiya everyone! We've made it! 2020 the start of the new decade. What a great finish to 2019 I've learned so much and developed a lot of skills I probably wouldn't have back home. This past week we had Christmas and  it was sooo fun. I dont think I'll have a better one out on the mission.  So I'll just dive straight into my Christmas day. We first woke up past our alarms so we rushed to get ready because we had a breakfast at a member's house. For breakfast we had a proper English breakfast which consists of beans, toast, egg, bacon, and sausage. Beans with breakfast may sound weird to a lot of you but it actually is really good. It was great time in the morning. Around noon time we were invited by members to stay the rest of the day with them. These members are on the posher(richer)  side and they love the missionaries. We spent the day with them playing games like Mario-cart, watching movies calling home and having a big roast feast. The members gave us some Am...
