The Trainee Becomes The Trainer

Image
Well hiya everyone hope you've all had a good week. This past week was transfers and I recieved my new companion trainee Elder Yoakum from Las Vegas! We also had Zone Conference yesterday so thats why there's an email today.  So I got my new trainee out of Las Vegas what are the chances. He is from North Las Vegas so no chance I would know him. I met him at the Wharf Valley Chapel where I first met my trainer Elder King. We then all went to the cow and calf just like I did and took pictures and split off to get some peace and quiet. The rest of the day was getting back to the flat with all of his luggage. We left the train station to walk to the flat and out of nowhere the biggest rain/hail storm came out of nowhere. The wind was so strong the rain was coming at us sideways and creating water tornados. It was insane.  Moving on to other things that happened this week we had 2 great lessons. One with our boy Julian and one with an older guy we've tried to teach for a while n...

My Testimony

Mom: Jackson, was asked to share his testimony for an event our stake is having in a couple of weeks. I thought I would share it with all of you, because he did a great job and I am so proud of him.  "Hello, how are you guys? I’m Elder Jones. I’m currently serving in the England Leeds mission and I’ve been out for about 6 months.   I just want to bare my short testimony of being out here on a mission and how it’s grown my testimony. Early on in my mission I didn’t have the strongest testimony but as I’ve been out here, I’ve learned a lot about this book right here, The Book of Mormon, and the power I can receive from it. I know that as you consistently read this book and consistently study and ponder and pray that all things are possible through Christ. I’ve found that even in my hardest times struggling on the mission, opening this book has blessed me in so many ways and it’s helped me share the message with everybody else here in England and be more authentic.   I ...

End Of A Transfer And I'm Training??

Image
Hello everyone! Hope your week went well, this was the last week of the transfer and I found out I'm training. I'm excited to train but also a bit nervous because I'm responsible for how the rest of his mission is going to be so wish me luck.  This past week was solid we met with Julian our favorite English guy. We sat down and set expectations and hes willing to take the lessons which we are super stoked for. He wasn't able to make it to church this last sunday but we are seeing him this week. The area is slowly coming together it's great. These past couple of week we've had some pretty cold and windy weather so it hasn't been the most fun being outside. Especially when we walk 40 minutes to church.  We went on our last exchange of the transfer with the Zone leaders and it was great. I love to learn from my leaders and it's good working with another companion in their area.  So yesterday evening we got transfers and Elder Kidd and I were expecting to st...

6 Months And A Sweet Piece Of Home

Image
Hiya friends and family! Hope the week was good because mine was. Our friend Julian came to church!!  So this week nothing to spectacular happened till Saturday. We were trying by some potential we made knocking and we left to this guy named Julian's house to see if he was still interested. One thing about Julian is when I first met him he had a dodge ram truck from America and he loves anything from America. So we go by his house and his truck wasn't there so go a couple doors down by another potential and Juliam pulls in with his truck. Elder Kidd is proper chuffed because he has the same type of truck back home and we walk over to him and chat him up. We end up going into his home and seeing all of his cool vintage toy cars and war helmets. Julian is probably the coolest English old man I've met. He was an extra in Fury, Saving Private Ryan, and other war movies. He told us about his out of body experience and how he was in a war and got RPGed. He tells us that God told ...

Exchanges Back To Back

Image
Hello friends and family! Hope you've had a wonderful week. For me it has been super busy and fun. We went on some exchanges and had a blast. I had dumplings for the first time and they are bomb. Anyways let's get into it. On Thursday we went on exchanges. This was a special exchange because the Assistants were going around all the zones and pairing up with the district leaders and the Zone leaders went with there companions. I got to go with my Zone leader Elder Sychagov from Moscow Russia. He is so funny and really cool. His English is good as well, but sometimes he doesn't her certain slang or phrases which can be funny sometimes haha. Elder Sprickedhoff one of the Assistants from Toronto went with Elder Kidd. The whole day was so great. We met this Latvian lady who spoke Russian so Elder  Sychagov spoke to her while I smiled and nodded it was funny. Later in the evening right before tea with a member we were knocking and had this super crazy cool experience.  So Elder S...
