Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!! Hope you all have a good Christmas and enjoy the new year. Congratulations to my cousin McKenna for getting her mission call to Italy! That is so amazing you'll do great and best of luck as you prepare in the Italian language before you leave! As for this past week the mission had Christmas socials for the north and south parts of the mission. Elder Priest and I headed to York for the north Christmas social. It was an all day event and loads of fun. So the north half of the mission all met at the York chapel and we had a spiritual start to the day listening to musicals and scriptures and watching "The Christ Child" video. It was a good start to the day. Afterwards we had "games" and when I say games I don't mean the fun ones. There were 3 games but we only got to 2 of them. The first one we divided into teams and tried to dress up a team member in wrapping paper. It was a bit boring and ours looked like complete rubbish. The next ...

Week 15

Hiya everyone hope you've all at a good week. This week has been pretty good it flew by and definitely has gotten colder. We had exchanges this week, stake finding, and a Christmas choir concert.  The beginning part of the week was pretty average we knocked and had district council.  Then Thursday we went on exchange. I was with Elder Weigman this time and we pretty much knocked the whole day and no real success. We talked to an old man for a bit and he asked if we had a copy of the BOM to give out cause he likes to read and wanted one. We gave him one and he said he was busy but could try and catch him in during the week so that was a positive.  We had stake finding on Saturday in Wakefield. It was kind of a flop. It had rained a bit prior and so everything/everyone was wet and cold. We had planned to have people write on a whiteboard and ask God a question, but it wasn't very successful. We sang Carol's as well. Afterwards we left to Huddersfield for the Christmas conce...

Exchangarooski And Some Stake Finding

Hello my friends and family! Hope you've all had a wonderful week. This week was pretty mellow for the most part. We went on exchange and had stake finding this week.  So exchange was fun this week. We have a new district leader Elder Stewart (he's the one next to me in the picture). We stopped by a person they were teaching his name was Martin. Then afterwards we had a district comp study. Elder Stewart had a couple fun activites. He wanted to work on our presentation skills so one of my favorite ones we did is we were given a random object and a gospel topic and had to relate it in a inspiring speech kind of way. We did all of this over motivation music as well it was so funny. We later in the day had lunch and went knocking on some doors. Nothing exciting after that.  On Saturday though we had Stake Finding in Huddersfield. We set up a table with a sign that said free gift wrapping and we sang Carol's. I was passing out Light the World cards and this was my first time do...

Got My Training Wheels Off

Hey everyone hope you had a good week. Sorry for no email last week it was a busy one. Nothing much happened last week. We had transfers and Elder King was getting moved to Skipton. So the last day he had me drive and we stopped by some of the members to say goodbye. My new companion is Elder Priest he has been out 18 months and he's actually from the mission in Nottingham.  So the day of transfers I drove all the way to leeds and picked up Elder Priest. Now something to note about him is that he has a learning disorder and hes mildy autistic. This made me kind of nervous. I would be leading the area but also kind of training him. I'm super grateful for this opportunity to have him as my companion and I know i will learn lots from him and maybe he will learn from me. He has a good spirit and all good intentions, he is just a little random at times so I'm trying to get used to him. All I've got to do is show him love and patience and things will come easy.  Moving on to ...
