Walk, Weather, Fireside
Salutations friends and family! Hope you're week was grand. This week has been alright. The weather has been the opposite of grand. This whole week it dropped about 20 degrees and it rained a lot. Walks this week were seemingly nonexistent. We did manage to get through and have some great studies. Transfers are in 1 week and its possible that I could be leaving Elder Pombo and head somewhere else.
One fun thing we did this week was walk to a park called Bradgate Park. It is about a 1 1/2 hour walk there so that was awesome. My legs wanted to fall off after the walk. We met up with the other sisters in our district and trekked it. 12.87 miles of walking in the heat with little to no breeze. It took about 5 hours in total that day. We got to see deer and walk up onto a hill and see the city. Elder Harmon wants to do the trip at least 2 more times before transfers but I don't know if my feet can handle it haha.
The zone leaders came down and played some spikeball with us so that made the week a lot better as well. During the week I started to feel achey and sick. I didn't feel the best for about 2 days but recovered quickly. Don't worry I don't have Corona.
We had some fun calls this week. We had a stake and mission zoom call which was fun. For the stake call we had pictures with different options to choose and everyone voted. I will share an example of one in the pictures of the email. The mission mingle game I will also share in the pictures. For sunday we had our usual ward zoom meeting and district meeting. It has been great to do come follow me on sundays without church. In the evening time we had a D-day fireside with President and Sister Kearns who are on the US military base here in England. We learned about the attack on Normandy and watched a video about a man who struggled on his mission and how he overcame his hard times it was really good.
Spiritual thought:
So I'm currently reading Helaman and this weeks zone theme was Helaman 10:4-5 and it reads:
"4 Blessed art thou, Nephi, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with unwearyingness declared the word, which I have given unto thee, unto this people. And thou hast not feared them, and hast not sought thine own life, but hast sought my will, and to keep my commandments.
5 And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever; and I will make thee mighty in word and in deed, in faith and in works; yea, even that all things shall be done unto thee according to thy word, for thou shalt not ask that which is contrary to my will."
I am enjoying reading about Nephi and his power and the spirit he had. Nephi is an absolute LEGEND! He can literally do anything he wants because his will is in line with Gods and God said that he will do that what says. During our district council we discussed this scripture and talked about following the will of Gods. Being a leaf in Gods stream. How can we realign ourselves with Gods will? When we do this we can gain all the blessings that he promises in the verses above not only for a time but forever!
That's all for this week, next week should be transfers so I'll let you know what happens. Have a great week! Thank you for the prayers and support love you all!
