Why Is This Email Titled ED SHEERAN?
Wow wow wow what a week it has been. Big news with transfers and a decent week with lessons and walks. Hope you've all had a great week! Let's jump right into the week.
Alright so to start off the week right we Tacos. That's right TACO TUESDAY!!!! We had some bomb tacos with chips and guacamole. Oh how I miss Mexican food. We had some great member lessons and got to chat with Julian over messenger. He is struggling with not having any work at the moment and not being able to leave his flat. Prayers for him would be much appreciated. Later in the week I got a random message from a guy named Raven from the Philippines. I don't even know the person and he just messaged saying he were interested in learning more but didn't believe we needed religion. He also only wanted to be taught by me and no one else which was a bit creepy. He calls me Brother Jackson and wants to be my friend. I've been able to teach over messages, but I don't see much coming from it at the moment.
On Saturday our friends Earnest and Sam messaged and asked if we wanted to play American football. We met up at a massive park and they brought their other friend Marshall. We played 3 flags up for a while it was a lot of fun. We had to leave so we gave them all a copy of the Book of Mormon. Seeds are being planted which I'm happy about. Who knows what will happen with those guys when they are older.
Alright alright alright, so what happened with transfers. Well your boy is getting whitewashed into the birth town of Ed Sheeran, Halifax. If you dont know what whitewashed means it means that 2 missionaries are going to a new area. This should be fun because I'll be comps with Elder Campbell, who is in my group, and he's a LAD. I will most likely be with him for only 1 transfer because President doesn't let you have too much fun, haha jk. Luckily for Elder Pombo one of the Elders coming here (not his companion) is Filipino so they will be able to relate and talk in tagalog which I'm so grateful for. I will definitely miss Leicester and the amazing people I've met. I pray that missionaries will be able to teach and baptize Julian. I'm so grateful for being able to find him and introduce him to the church. Off to a new chapter in my mission and I'll be coming in on my year mark by the end of the transfer which is CRAZY!
Spiritual thought:
So during one of our memeber lessons we discussed a Confrence talk from this last conference called: "Finding Refuge from the Storms of Life"-By Elder Ricardo P. Giménez
It is so good and highly recommend it. He quotes President Nelson and this phrase stood out to me.
"When faced with these storms, we often experience feelings of despair or fear. President Russell M. Nelson said, “Faith is the antidote for fear”—faith in our Lord Jesus Christ"
I find this to be absolutely true. When our faith is high we have nothing to fear. I don't fear of this quarantine at all and I know any troubles I have will and do work out. Faith is so critical these days so look for ways to increase that faith. I would recommend to read the Book of Mormon if I were you Haha.
Anyways that's all for this past week. I will let you know how my week goes with my new comp should be a blast! Thank you for the prayers and support! Love you all!
