Week 15
Hiya everyone hope you've all at a good week. This week has been pretty good it flew by and definitely has gotten colder. We had exchanges this week, stake finding, and a Christmas choir concert.
The beginning part of the week was pretty average we knocked and had district council. Then Thursday we went on exchange. I was with Elder Weigman this time and we pretty much knocked the whole day and no real success. We talked to an old man for a bit and he asked if we had a copy of the BOM to give out cause he likes to read and wanted one. We gave him one and he said he was busy but could try and catch him in during the week so that was a positive.
We had stake finding on Saturday in Wakefield. It was kind of a flop. It had rained a bit prior and so everything/everyone was wet and cold. We had planned to have people write on a whiteboard and ask God a question, but it wasn't very successful. We sang Carol's as well. Afterwards we left to Huddersfield for the Christmas concert. Some of the missionaries were already there and they asked me to get some Papa John's for them so I made my way to pick up some pizzas. Since I'm the only one in a driving area in our stake I'm the Uber and Uber eats driver, just like back home...
The Christmas concert was amazing. There was 3 different choirs. One choir from the church and 2 others from other ones. The music was great and they were reading off chapters in Matthew and Luke about the Savior. At the very end the Gospel choir told the congregation that we could join in and clap along and so of course us missionaries all looked at eachother and started clapping. It was like a proper southern Baptist gospel song you would see on TV or in movies. It got so hyped and we were all jamming out. I wish during church we would do things like that haha.
Spiritual thought:
D&C 18:10-13
"10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;
11 For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.
12 And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.
13 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!"
Especially during the Christmas season not only do I think of the saviors birth, but also why and what was so powerful about it. Christ was prophesied to be the redeemer of the world. He would be the gateway to our eternal salvation. Because of him we can be with our father again. Because of his atoning sacrifice we are able to repent and draw power from it. Even if we aren't necessarily sinning we can still use his Atonement to receive strength and power. I am so grateful for this and the ability to repent and relief ourselves of pain or guilt. I know that Christ will come again. I'm thankful for this Christmas season and the spirit it can bring to all. Always remember him. Light the World
Anyways that's all I have. We have a Christmas social so half the mission will go on Tuesday and the other half on Thursday so that will be fun and exciting. Thanks for the emails and support. Have an amazing week!
