Last Week Of The Transfer!
Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well. This week has been a solid one, we had some in person contacts, lessons, meetings, and running some errands for missionaries in the zone. Things are looking promising here in England! Restrictions are lifting and the virus is being controlled.
Here in England one if the restrictions has to do with meeting outdoors. We are limited to 6 people or 2 different households at a time. We were planning to have a district council in person together but we have 7 people in the district so that kind of threw a wrench into our plans. So, we came up with an alternative. Elder Hancock and I have double glass window doors and a small back garden so we set up chairs and table for the district to sit outside. Meanwhile elder Hancock and I sat inside with a table and chairs looking out the windows. We called them and put them on speaker to have district council is was funny haha. We then had a district lunch afterwards and our district leader elder Cuayahuitl made us tacos and I helped him with that. It was a good day and I'm excited for when we can meet more than 6 people at a time!
On Thursday we were in the middle of our personal study when the housing coordinator, elder Heaton called and asked us if we could drive 35min to the Dewberry sisters flat to check out what is causing their flat to flood. So we zoom down there and elder Hancock takes a look(he's the handyman). The poor sisters flat was so wet everywhere. The wood floorboards were soaked and every time you stepped water would seep out of the cracks. Long-Story short they moved in with the huddersfield sisters while someone came to fix the flat.
We went on exchanges with the Morley Elders, Elder Robertson and Peña. We went to do some service with them for a nonmember they found over Facebook marketplace. The lady's name is Nikki and she bought us Pizza Hut which was great! It was a good time to spend with the elders I enjoyed it.
We had one last zone call before the end of the transfer and we played a kahoot that went over the whole transfer it was a good time. We received transfers this week and I'll be staying here in Leeds, but unfortunately elder Hancock will be headed to Sheffield. I'll be getting a new companion from France named Elder Dupre! He's a cool guy I served around him before so it should be a fun time. I can't believe that I'm headed into my second to last transfer. Time is so weird on the mission!
Spiritual thought:
"To Aquiring Spiritual Guidance" ~Richard G. Scott
"Our Father expects you to learn how to obtain that divine help by exercising faith in Him and His Holy Son, Jesus Christ. Were you to receive inspired guidance just for the asking, you would become weak and ever more dependent on Them. They know that essential personal growth will come as you struggle to learn how to be led by the Spirit."
I've have learned recently that the Lord loves effort and He lets us struggle so we can grow. He know what will make us grow and sometimes it requires us to mess up and struggle so we can learn.
I hope you all have a fantastic week! Love you all
