Things Are Opening Up!!!
Hey everyone hope your week was good! This week was busy, busy, busy. We had transfers this week so we were moving missionaries around. We had some service opportunities, some lessons, and meetings so it was great to be busy!
This couple named Robert and Sam help out the less fortunate in the council estates near the church. They provide free food packages and usually they would be set up outside with people coming by to grab some food. A member from the bishopric named Bernard offered to have them set up at the front of the church building. They were so grateful for the support and offer and gladly accepted. This is a good chance to show people that the church isn't what everyone thinks it is and gives us a good reputation. We are planning to utilize the building more as things open up!
We also had a super good lesson with our friend Elijah. We read the story of Moses parting the red sea and he seemed to really love it. He told us "its weird because I've read this before and I dont know if this is because I've been meeting with you but I'm learning about this in a new way" I thought that was pretty cool. We talked about prophets and he believes that God calls prophets today. We invited him to read a talk given by President Nelson talking about faith and we are Planning to discuss it next week so we are looking forward to that.
We have been unable to set up a meeting Vijay because of work so prayers would be great. We did get a couple referrals so hopefully that goes well I'll keep you updated.
Spiritual thought:
"Bearers of Heavenly Light" ~Elder Dieter F Uchtdorf
"Every time you turn your hearts to God in humble prayer, you experience His light. Every time you seek His word and will in the scriptures, the light grows in brightness. Every time you notice someone in need and sacrifice your own comfort to reach out in love, the light expands and swells. Every time you reject temptation and choose purity, every time you seek or extend forgiveness, every time you courageously testify of truth, the light chases away darkness and attracts others who are also seeking light and truth."
Sometimes darkness can creep into our lives, but this talk by Elder Uchtdorf has a lot of good things to help is come closer to Christ. I encourage you to read this when you get a chance.
That's all for this time hope you have a amazing week and I'll talk to you later. Love yall!
