Miracles Flying By

Wow, what a week!

We have been busy this week. Lots of calls, lessons, planning, and good food. I have a funny story that may not be as funny over email but I'll share it later below. Anyways as I've mentioned before our Zone has set a goal to make 47 new friends. We're getting there we just got to have a good push this week and focus on being diligent in all of our efforts.

We had a couple cool miracles this week as well. We were on our walk with the other Elders and we had our copies of the Book Of Mormon. As we were walking 2 people we encountered pretty much asked for a copy and so we were able to give 2 away. We also had called through a bunch of potentials this week and came across one of our friends named Elijah from Malawi. We had a great bible study with him(that's what he requested) we are excited to study with him and involve some members with him.

Funny story:

So our friend Vijay was reading the introduction of the Book of Mormon with us one day and his cousin (John) heard from outside and burst in freaking out that it wasn't the bible. He was telling us all the things he believes and we agreed with all of it. We read more of the Book of Mormon and was curious about our church. During the lesson the language was a barrier so they went over to their other cousin to help translate. Their cousin was Michael (they called him Michael Jackson haha) and Michael was apologizing because he had just smoked and was high. We ended up inviting them to church. So the next day they we had the 3 stooges pull into the church parking lot. Vijay let his cousin John drive and it seemed like he was learning for the first time haha. They kept braking and turning the wrong way and parked real close to Bishop's BMW. They came into church and it seemed they liked it. We gave the other 2 romanian copies of the Book of Mormon. After church we were chatting with John and Vijay and the other one was just standing there. Just inside the church doors 2 of the deacons were messing around and 1 of them chucked a 2p coin and it nailed the cousin standing there in the head and Vinay and John started laughing saying it was blessings from heaven I was dying. It was a funny experience for sure.

Spiritual thought:

I listened to a devotional the other day that I really enjoyed. Sorry I dont have any reference to it at the moment, but he was talking about the power of giving and the miraculous blessing in our world that come from giving. He compared 2 households exactly the same in circumstances and dynamic except 1 family gave to charity more than the other. The result by the end of the year the family that donated more earned more money than the other. This study was conducted with those in the united states but can be applied to everyone. He went on to the happiness we recieve from giving and how much it benefits us. He then said something that was really cool. ---> the Greatest gift you can give someone is the opportunity to give. Now let's not take that the wrong way, but when we help other give we recieve great blessings. Charity is such a powerful attribute and I've learned so much about it on my mission. I challenge you all to give this week!

Sorry for the randomness in the email I hope it all made sense. I typed this under pressure of time. Hope you have a great week!
