Another Week Down And Last Week Of The Transfer To Go
Hey all what's going on? This was a good week. Had my written driver's test, went on exchanges, prepared/had a mission wide fast, service, and lessons. We should be hearing some guidelines for country in regards to covid tonight so we will see what happens. I personally think nothing will or it'll get tighter. The cases are in the 12,000s so that's fun.
I passed my theory test this week which I'm relieved so now I need to take my practical test for driving so I can get my british licence. Itll be interesting hopefully I can get a lesson booked soon.
Our mission fasted for the missionaries in our mission to become "an Enoch people" where we are following the will of the Lord completely and faithfully. By doing so we have faith that miracles will abound and the veil will be very thin. We of course dont expect to be taken up into heaven like the people of enoch but hope to see great things come about.
We had a lesson with this man in our ward named Robert Jackson over the phone. Now Brother jackson is this super old guy and this past week we were sharing a message with him. Elder Menzel shares his thoughts about a conference talk and asks him a question. As brother Jackson begins to answer he pauses and says "can I call you back I've gotta go to the loo?" We were like oh ok should we call in like 5-10 minutes and he pauses and then says "no its gonna be more like an hour" elder Menzel and I were just taken off guard it was funny. We ended up rescheduling with him because we were busy in an hour. I don't know about you but I don't know of anyone who takes that long on the toilet. But I guess that's what you get when a super super old person needs to go to the loo.
Spiritual thought:
I really just want to share a quote that stood out to me this last Confrence from President Nelson titled "Let God Prevail"
"When your greatest desire is to let God prevail, to be part of Israel, so many decisions become easier. So many issues become nonissues! You know how best to groom yourself. You know what to watch and read, where to spend your time, and with whom to associate. You know what you want to accomplish. You know the kind of person you really want to become."
I like that last sentence a lot and it's truly something I've thought a lot about, but am I willing to put forth the effort to become that person? I invite you all to go back and listen to this talk I really enjoyed it.
That's all for this week thank you for all the love and prayers. Love you all!
Elder Jones
