Sacrament!
Hey everyone hope you've all had a good week! This week went by pretty fast it feels like there are only 4 days in the week and it's all a blurr. This week was great because we got to take the Sacrament for the first time in 4 months. It has been a long time so it was nice to finally take it again.
This week consisted of lots of lessons and lots of walking. One of the people we are working with, Amanda, lives about an hour and fifteen minutes away from us and she wanted a copy of the Book of Mormon. Even though she's a far away walk we still wanted to because we love being outside instead of confined to our flats. We trekked the walk there and set it by her door and walked all the way back. Our area is very hilly so that means we are always getting that calf workout (feel the burn).
Earlier in the week we had a lesson with Alana and she vented to us about her issues with her daughter and some other issues. We were able to calm her down and bring her some peace. Later that day we were around her house so we stopped by and said hello she really liked it. Unfortunately though after that day we haven't been able to get ahold of her. We are thinking she is having issues with her phone and internet so we hope she's alright we will check in with her this week to see if she's going ok.
Since July 4th the UK has new restrictions and because of that we are able to do service now. We have posted in the ward and area Facebook pages and had a less active member invite us to his house to clear some junk and weeds in his garden. He offered to make us some fried chicken, shakes, bbq beans, and sweet corn "classic American style" he says. The Meltham elders helped us out as well because we were balling with them right before. We took the food back to the flat and attempted to eat the food. It was really minging and not good at all. He hyped it up so much and yet it wasn't what he said haha. We appreciated the offer nonetheless.
So when lock down all started our mission President wanted all the Elders to stand by the Sisters and not partake of the sacrament because they were unable to recieve it. For the first time in 4 months we were able to it was so nice. It really made the Sabbath feel like the Sabbath. For our ward Sunday school meeting Elder Campbell and I were in charge of the lesson and it went really well which we were hoping it was. We were anticipating little participation, but the members got Invovled and it was great. It was also a sunny day which always makes things better especially here in England. One thing I've appreciated more than ever is sunshine because it rains sooo much here and is always cold and cloudy. It doesn't even feel like summer. It was a good week though.
Spiritual thought:
The Grandeur of God -Elder Jeffery R Holland
"It is the grand truth that in all that Jesus came to say and do, including and especially in His atoning suffering and sacrifice, He was showing us who and what God our Eternal Father is like, how completely devoted He is to His children in every age and nation. In word and in deed Jesus was trying to reveal and make personal to us the true nature of His Father, our Father in Heaven.
He did this at least in part because then and now all of us need to know God more fully in order to love Him more deeply and obey Him more completely."
Ive been studying the Godhead recently and trying to better understand the unity of the members in it. I really enjoyed this talk and encourage you all to read it. It has helped me understand the Father-Son relationship and I've felt closer to them both because of it.
Thank you all for the support and prayers! Tomorrow is my 11 month mark which is crazy cant believe I've almost been here for a year! Anyways have a great week love you all!
