Patiently Enduring 2

Hello my people! Hope you're week was great, and a Happy Mother's day to all the mothers. This week has been an ok week. Elder Pombo has been struggling and so lessons with members have been reduced. On the bright side though he has been doing better the last couple of days and our friend Grace reach back out to us!

So earlier in the week we had been keeping in contact with Grace and she wanted to video call us so we were able to chat with her and she agreed to let us teach her again. We are going to restart all the lessons and take it very slow. The last time we taught her I felt like we were teaching the lessons and not the person. We had lesson with her and it went well. Grace was paying attention and hopefully understanding it all. We only covered the first 2 principles from lesson 1 (God is our Loving Heavenly Father and the Gospel Blesses individuals and Families)
We are going to be meeting with her 2 times a week. We hope she can really feel the spirit and have an increasing desire.

During the week we had all sorts of calls over zoom it was great. Our mission mingle was fun too. This time during the call we broke out into 7 rooms and each room had to explain a principle with each missionary saying 1 sentence. It was soo good to see all the missionaries and hearing their words. We  had a couple district and stake calls. For dinner this past week I had some steak, a gammon joint, and mash to go with those both. I was eating really good this week. We also made German pancakes which satisfied my taste buds.

Yesterday we had a Questions of the Soul Discussion Group over zoom. The sisters and us along with the Ward mission leader run this facebook page and post different questions of the soul. We didn't have the biggest turn out, but we did in fact have some non member show up. Our topic this week was the question: " Is there a God?" It went well and we had some responses. Hopefully the more times we do it the more we get and ultimately more people have a desire to learn about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Spiritual thought:

This week in my studies I have been studying a lot about prayer and of course came across a banger of a talk give by Elder Hales of the seventy called "Answers to Prayer" in the talk he talks about this woman who had gone blind and her nephew said to ask Heavenly Father for new eyes and this was her response:

"Pat said she was taken aback by the question but responded, “Well, sometimes Heavenly Father doesn’t work like that. Sometimes He needs you to learn something, and so He doesn’t give you everything you want. Sometimes you have to wait. Heavenly Father and the Savior know best what is good for us and what we need. So They aren’t going to grant you everything you want in the moment you want it.”

Elder Hales goes on to say:

".....Brothers and sisters, sometimes our prayers are answered quickly with the outcome we hope for. Sometimes our prayers are not answered in the way we hope for, yet with time we learn that God had greater blessings prepared for us than we initially anticipated. And sometimes our righteous petitions to God will not be granted in this life. As Elder Neal A. Maxwell said, “Faith also includes trust in God’s timing.”

Time and time again I learn this about our Heavenly Father. We won't know the entire purpose of why things happen, why our answers come soon or late, or what Heavenly Father is trying to teach us. We must trust in him and understand/reminder ourselves that there is a reason and we must be patient like I said last email. I know God will and always answers prayers to those with a sincere heart and real intent.

Thank you for all the support and prayers. Hope you all have a great week. If you'd like to chat feel free to on, email, messenger, or hangouts. Til next week!
