Day..............75.......In Quarantine

Heyo! Hope you've all had a good week! This week has been pretty solid. I am definitely going insane, but its fine everything is fine. The only thing really keeping me sane is walks and members. We have had some really good memeber lessons which I've enjoyed. 

So to explain how insane we are going all four of us Elders went for a walk to a park and we got to this open grass field and starting pretending to through a football around. I kid you not we were throwing back and forth for 10 min and it felt sooo real. People around probably thought we were on something haha. Anyways long story short one of the Elders Moms order us a football so that should be much better and we will go throw it around with the people we met last week, Earnest and Sam. 

As for the lessons this week we did some Come Follow Me in Mosiah chp. 27. I'm so grateful for this manual and it really helps us Study the Book of Mormon more effectively. We had a few members share some personal stuff and they really felt the spirit during our discussions it has been great.

We've been having great Sabbaths as well. We have a ward sunday school meeting over zoom then a district one. Later in the evening we have our discussion group. This past topic was "Does God Know Me?" We had a small turn out, but it went really well and one of the ladies that joined is intrested and the sisters are working with her so it's been great. Hopefully we can get some people to teach soon.  

Spiritual thought: 

This past week I finished the saints book and it was fantastic. I'm onto the second volume now. Reflecting on the book and history of the church I just want to bear my testimony on the church and the Prophet Joseph Smith. I KNOW that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's New Testament restored. We have a living prophet and apostles, just like when Christ was on the earth. I know this to be true because of my testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph is the Prophet of the Dispensation of the Fulness of Times. He gave everything to the Lord and died an innocent man. I am extremely grateful that the Book of Mormon was brought about because of dedication and love Jospeh had. We are in an ongoing Restoration and the work has and will not stop!

From Mom:

Several weeks back when Jackson called home one Monday we were talking about his companion and his struggles. Jackson asked me how much it was to send a package to England and I responded and said a lot more than what is in the package!  Like 4 times as much, why? He started to tell me that Elder Pombo doesn't have a set of scriptures. He has a blue BOM and random set of the Bible and Doctor & Convents. He said mom, I really want to pay with my own money and get him a quad with his own name on it. That is if he doesn't go home...I said okay I can do that, I told him I would look into it and see how much it would be and let him know. I asked him to send me the address of where he wanted me to have it sent.  Once I got off the phone I got to work to find the best deal on a quad and shipping I could find and the fastest way I could get it there.  The LDS distribution center has a store in the UK and it was $55 so that would be perfect right? I ordered it!  Well the next day I got a text from Jackson saying Elder Pombo was going home... It was a hard day for Jackson and for us. We had faith and hope that he could get through everything he was going through, we fasted and prayed and I guess it just wasn't enough.  

I got a text in the middle of the night Friday from Jackson saying, MOM Elder Pombo is staying he is not going home order the scriptures and get them here as fast as you can!  I was on the phone most of the day Friday trying to figure out how to get them to England in 3-5 days!  Just so you all know anything ordered from LDS distribution Center from the UK is shipped out of the United States, it will still take 3-4 weeks!  Deseret Book could get them there in 7-10 days. So I ended up going down to Deseret book getting them engraved with Elder Pombo's name on them and sending them Express mail from the post office. Jackson got them and attached is the video of Elder Pombo receiving them. I sure love Elder Pombo and I am so grateful he is staying out in the mission field. I know he is going to be blessed through his trials and so are so many others that he is going to teach in England!  

Sorry for the long email, but I wanted to give you the back story to the video. I think these two have a very special bond. They will never forget the experiences they have had with one another. 

Side note, Jackson is giant compared to Elder Pombo!
