England Leeds Mission Update
Dear Parents & Leaders,
It was an honor to join with Saints around the world to celebrate the restoration of the gospel of Christ. Our missionaries had the opportunity to participate from their individual flats and apartments. They reported to us about their appreciation for technology that allowed them to see 4 of the 5 sessions live. Most importantly, they loved hearing from our Prophet and Leaders.
Like many around the world, the missionaries in the England Leeds Mission are self-isolating. The British government has set the policies and we are compliant. Here is the instruction:
To stop the spread of coronavirus, you should only leave the house for very limited purposes:
* shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible
* one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household
* any medical need, including to donate blood, avoid or escape risk of injury or harm, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
* travelling for work purposes, but only where you cannot work from home
These reasons are exceptions. Even when doing these activities, you should minimise time spent outside of the home and ensure you are 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your household.
You should also:
* wash your hands with soap and water often – for at least 20 seconds
* wash your hands as soon as you get home
* cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
* put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands
* not touch your face if your hands are not clean
Your missionaries are truly amazing. They are mostly upbeat and positive. They see this situation as a delay in their efforts, and a redirection of their current energy. Like most, they tire at times and wonder about the next step. But most often they are just patient and put their trust in God. Want some evidence?

We continue to operate with the direction that the England Leeds Mission will not be evacuated. Our hope is that the restrictions will end soon and that we will be in position to teach the many who have had their hearts softened.
We know that some of you have specific concerns. We will address these with you as the needs arise. Please contact your stake president or reach out to us directly if needed. It may take a day or two to respond.
Thanks for your love and support,
M. Kirk and Sally T. Green, Mission Leaders
