England Leeds Mission Update

Dear Parents and Leaders of Missionaries in the England Leeds Mission,

Thank you for the amazing men and women you sent to this area of the vineyard.  We have been studying together the words of Jacob and the Allegory of the Olive Tree.  We discussed this thought, "When we first came on our mission, we felt it an honor to be called to work FOR the Lord.

The recent events have convinced us that we are not working FOR the Lord, we are serving WITH the Lord".  We feel Him close.

Many of you have seen news (attached) about the changing situation of full-time missionaries. This information came to us late last night. Specific direction has not yet been provided, but we anticipate that we will receive additional instruction soon.

The guidelines are described as "temporary adjustments". The letter states, "In the coming weeks, based upon world conditions, substantial numbers of missionaries will likely need to be returned to their home nations to continue their service. This will be done in a systematic way based on the urgency of travel restrictions, level of COVID-19 concern, and other considerations".

We have followed the inspiration of leaders and have felt directed in ways that are keeping missionaries safe. Senior Couples and younger missionaries with health issues have already traveled to their home countries. They are under a 14-day isolation upon their return.

The remaining missionaries are well and are serving in non-traditional ways. Even before the current level of concern, our elders and sisters began to limit their public engagement. On March 4, a 'no-touching' rule was put in place. This was expanded to create a 2 meter personal buffer.

As previously conveyed, on 12 March we began to isolate ourselves.  This has become a blessing as we learn new ways to reach out and teach others.  We are having miracles throughout the mission.

We do not know what twists these events will offer in the short term.  Yet, we know that the final outcome is glorious.  We wait upon the Lord and seek his blessings as we maneuver through these turbulent times.

As soon as we obtain any additional information, we will get it to you.  In the meantime, we love you and pray for your safety and protection.
